Board Meeting TOMORROW, 3:30 at the church!
A committee has been formed to look into the future growth of our church. This includes consideration of a new chapel and remodel of our existing building to expand the commons area and add meeting rooms. Your input is welcome. Contact Lee Larson, the committee chairman.
We will have our annual church budget meeting on Sunday, January 10th, right after church. Your attendance is important as we come to consensus on the NHCF budget for 2021. At that time, we'll present the balance sheet for 2020 and the proposed budgeted amounts for each area of ministry in the new year. There will be ample opportunity for questions and discussion.
Range practice this week on Thursday
from2:00 to 4:00 at the Hub
NHCF supports nine missions: The Thomases at JARRS; the Risley Family Ministries in Mexico; Navajo Christian Foundation at Dilkon on the reservation; AICM (American Indian Christian Mission) in Linden; Living Hope Women's Centers in Show Low; the Christian Community Outreach in Show Low; the Coalition Against Homelessness in Show Low, and the Salvation Army.
The New Year
After our experience in 2020, many are saying "I'm glad that's over with. ”It's an expression of both frustration and anxiety which, in a sense, is a pity, since every day of life is a gift. Yet, people generally have trouble seeing the forest for the trees.
We much prefer life to be easy, filled with good things, and to be normal in all ways. When life's
not that way, we get testy. Let's pray that we don't carry that attitude into the new year.
Expect the best, live for the best, and be prayed up each day for the surprises. God will carry us
through.
We can do this because of the wonderful promises of God that we have in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do
also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father. And whatever you ask in
My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son" (John 14.12,13).
Remember, "that the Father may be glorified in the Son."
Our lives take good form when we glorify God, when we praise Jesus, and then when we ask, there's a
spiritual moment when the blessings come. This new year we must take to heart to "give thanks in
all things for this is God's will for us in Jesus" (1 Thess.5.18).
We must "pray without ceasing," and "be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving make our requests known to God" (1 Thess.5.17; Phil.4.6).
Will the new year be better than the last? I don't know, but I do know that by "walking in faith,"
and "giving God the glory," that my mind and heart will be predisposed to God's goodness no matter
what happens.
Happy New Year!
